12/12/20 – Martha Evans has been abandoned by her husband, who took all their cash and left her homeless and virtually destitute with her two daughters and stepson. Martha leaves town in hopes of finding a job and a place to stay and finally finds a job at a sleepy rural diner, once famous for its home-made root beer. But with her car broken down and the bills piling up, it looks like a bleak Christmas for Martha and her family. However, there are warm hearts working behind the scenes that ultimately make this the happiest holiday of Martha’s life.
Q-tips say: See it – we enjoyed it! A few minutes of sadness but overall a good movie.
Mrs Q says: Wish more movies were like this. It is so relatable and real. They don’t have everyone dressed up (even the “poor” people) in perfect clothes, with perfect hair and perfect houses! You could truly feel Martha’s (Kristy Swanson) pain it felt real and those kids WOW! Not everyone is the world is nice but this movie makes you wish they were.
After A Christmas Wish – how about enjoying Frosty the Snowman again.
