The Berghoff is a rarity in America’s restaurant industry—100% family-owned and family-operated for more than 123 years. We enjoyed this visit after our visit to Christkindl market Chicago. www.christkindlmarket.com
Q-Tips say: Had a wonderful visit, food, drinks & ambiance.
Both had had a light beer.
Mrs. Q’s enjoyed: – Reuben Sandwich – Hand-carved corned beef (I had corned beef), Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing, served on a grilled house-made rye. She usually does not drink a beer with a meal but when at Berghoff Rest. it is a must.
The other half had: Mini Brat & Knockwurst – Served with German potato salad, and sauerkraut.
We shared an order of: Potato Pancakes with small side of apple sauce.
Q tips Say: Go. Enjoyed the visit & a yummy late lunch. Should Berghoff ever offer their “History Tour,” take it. When we went several years ago, it was excellent. A tour that ended with tasting different dishes of food.
