Q-TIPS say: Good drinks, food & service and nice wine selection. Went with friends with a Groupon for 4. Price – A little on the high side. Chef Dominique Tougne walks about talking with customers and that is a nice touch along with his wife also socializing and serving. Mr. Q had the pre-fix option of Cassoulet-White beans, duck confit, lamb stew, garlic sausage which also came with a salad and dessert. We asked to share to the salad and there was no problem. Gâteau Breton Salidou- Brittany cake with salty caramel sauce and Fromage Blanc ice cream dessert from the pre-fix menu was awesome. Mrs. Q had a Special of the evening which was a Skirt Steak with fires and some salad greens. The Skirt Steak was a bit tough – perhaps that is how a Skirt Steak should taste but never really had one in a restaurant before, I really don’t know. Mrs. Q says, I’d try the Cassoulet or the Steak Au Poivre – Flat iron Steak with sautéed potatoes and wild mushrooms served in Au Poivre sauce. Mrs. Q says: Chez Moi is located in the same spot that Cafe Bernard was – newly decorated. The food is not your typical French fare. Usually there are different rich sauces that accompany the main dishes but not at Chez Moi.
This was not a Pre Steppenwolf Theater dinner – it is a couple of blocks from the Theater but if you mention that you are going to the Theater, they will give you 10% off.
