Hours: Mon, Thu-Sun 10 am – 4:30 pm – Good for Kids: Yes

Q-Tips Say: Yes, go see it. Luckily we had a clear but extremely windy day. It was so windy that the steps to get to the lighthouse, all 300 of them, were closed due to the high winds. Usually it is foggy but we had a clear day the entire time we were there. Dress warm due to the winds. Mrs. Q says: We were fortunate the day we were there the Museum was open with a guide to answer all questions and give us a little history about the people who managed the Lighthouse, and the care and maintenance of the Lighthouse and many interesting facts. Did I mention IT WAS FREE. FREE IS GOOD.

Excellent place to visit with awesome views. I understand the 30-storey climb back up to the visitor center from the Lighthouse is slightly strenuous and one can work up sweat, but there are a couple “rest points” so you can take it slow and walk up at your own pace. The drive to the Lighthouse is long and winding but so beautiful. On the way you will see “Happy Cows” and a few deer and elk. At the end of the road there is a small parking lot. Be prepared to hike the rest of the way up to the visitors center but if you have a “Handicapped” sign so can drive a little further up and not have to walk as far to the Visitor Center.
