Don’t Go Gentle – Theater WIT – 1229 W Belmont, Chicago, IL 60657, (773) 975-8150
Judge Lawrence Driver is a conservative powerhouse on the bench, but a failure at home. Now retired and widowed, and seeking redemption, Lawrence volunteers to do pro bono legal work with Tanya, a vulnerable ex-con with a troubled teenage son, while working to repair the increasingly complicated relationships with his own adult children. When his new found generosity is perceived as condescension, Lawrence runs the risk of losing everything.
Great acting, directing, and a marvelous set. Loved it! The Q’s like Wit Theater – Three plays going on under one roof. DON’T GO GENTLE – is a story, perhaps like one in your own family. A difficult role by the son was extremely well done. All the actors were great. The Judge got what was deserved at the end from his children and the guests he was assisting by letting them live in his home. He was a real controlling SOB.
We took public transportation. There is FREE parking across the street from the theater at Cooper’s Rest. The Q’s have eaten at Cooper’s and enjoyed the food and drinks which has Pub food. They also offer outdoor seating.
