MATILDA 4/2016

MATILDA – at the Oriental Theater in Chgo. Ford Center for the Performing Arts, 24 West Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60601

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence beyond her years. Unloved by her ghastly parents and bullied by her evil headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, she resorts to using her special gifts to get by, in the process impressing her kind schoolteacher, Miss Honey, with her curiosity and charm.

Over the course of her first term at school, Miss Honey and Matilda begin to have a profound effect on each other’s lives, learning that destiny is in your hands!

DID YOU KNOW? The role of Matilda is played by 4 different actresses, each with their own supporting cast of kids who appear on rotation.

Q-Tips say: Excellent musical about a young girl and is mistreated & bullied by her family, and other students. An excellent musical for the Jr. High & Freshmen/Sophomore HS student. What a talented group of people. Mrs. Q favorites were: her father, a used car salesman (green plaid suit and all) and the Phys Ed teacher,(a man dressed as a women) I dare you to try his yoga poses and tumbling act. We did enjoy. The Oriental was half filled with Jr. High kids and a large number of Q-Tip people.
