Object in the Mirror – Goodman Theater – Chicago

Objects in the Mirror – Escaping the horrors of his war-torn homeland, this Liberian refugee hopes to begin anew in Australia. But his path to peace is haunted by an explosive family secret, and Shedrick must confront the ghosts of his past to reclaim his present. Charles Smith illuminates a war refugee’s dangerous odyssey in this new play.

Q-tips say: We did like it. Mrs. Q says: Will not divulge the ending for those who might not have seen it yet.  Well done story about the struggles of young people who leave some of their family and homeland to seek a better life from a war in their homeland.  The set design, projection design were excellent. Two hours long with one 15 min. intermission. After the play, we enjoyed discussing the play at “Shaw’s Crab House.” (see review under Chicago restaurants).
