Mrs. Q says: “The Paper” delivers a some what wholesome, hilarious, and perhaps surprisingly accurate look at the struggles of media in the modern age. However, rate this a tad lower than “The Office. Solely because of… ESMERELDA. 🙄🙄 This character is so insufferable and annoying. Every time she speaks on screen, it is like nails on a chalkboard.

Q-tips say:Yes, another enjoyable our visit to the Lincoln Park Zoo. IT IS FREE! Everything is open even the Merry Go Round & Train. We went around 11:00 AM & it was feeding time for most animals so they were out and about & playing. Street Parking & they have a lot -which requires a fee.
Mrs. Q says: So, get off your fanny and put your cell phone away and go enjoy the beautiful weather outside & visit your four legged relatives at the Zoo.
Many negatives are said by some about Chicago, IL, but you can’t beat the Free Lincoln Park Zoo/transportation/museums/restaurants, etc.
Chicago has great public transportation, the restaurants, Playhouses, Museums (do offer free days for residents & you can get free admission from some Public Libraries providing you have little ones with you). The wonderful ethnic neighborhoods and their restaurants. Navy Pier. The wonderful views of Lake Michigan & views of the cities, especially if you live on/near the lake.

The movie blends mystery, drama, and a touch of humor in a very entertaining way. Especially liked that the main characters are older adults, with characters full of experience and depth, which gives the story a unique charm and realism. Each character has their own personality and brings something special to the group, making the plot both intriguing and moving. It’s refreshing to see stories where older people have leading roles with such vitality and complexity.
The castle which is the set is just stunning. This is a perfect “cozy murder” movie for fall! However, there are heavy accents to deal with, so turn on the sub-titles if needed.

What a beautiful little surprise “Adopt a Highway” turned out to be. Ethan Hawke is tender, touching, and it is a moving experience & he spends much of his time talking honestly to baby Ella.

8/21/25 – Q-tips say: All enjoyed a “Yappy Happy Hour” at Mrs. Q’s “Shed Shed” – “the balcony” with friend, Ginger. Then off to Little Madrid for din-din. Yes, we did enjoy.
We began with glasses of prosecco.
Gambas Al Ajillo – Shrimp cooked in EVOO, fresh garlic/parsley.
Tabla de Embutidos – Spanish charcuterie board with Spanish olives and almonds, jamón serrano, Spanish chorizo, salchichón. Served with almonds .
Albondigas -Spanish meatballs, Castellana sauce & a side of chips. Anchovies & olives.
Ginger shared: Bacon wrapped Dates & Churros and chocolate.
