Q-tips say: We do enjoy some of these series. We are enjoying Brilliant Minds but it may not for everyone. The last Brilliant Minds series we watched was interesting because they had to treat an Autistic patient.

DOWNTON ABBEY: THE GRAND FINALE, the cinematic return of the global phenomenon, follows the Crawley family and their staff as they enter the 1930s. When Mary finds herself at the center of a public scandal and the family faces financial trouble, the entire household grapples with the threat of social disgrace. The Crawleys must embrace change as the staff prepares for a new chapter with the next generation leading Downton Abbey into the future. Fandango.

Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy this.

Each character stands out uniquely and make their mark. Through the commentaries, we learn that there has been tremendous research done to get every detail right: the changes in their society, in their status, in their dressing style, in their accessories and even in their hair style. And this change primarily takes place because of the war. The most beautiful thing they brought about was the relationship the lords and ladies had with the butler, chauffeur, footmen and servants. The importance both parties give to each other is just marvellous. Downtown Abbey has not only fascinated us by the infrastructure and vintage cars, but has also taught us the value of relationships. The language is exquisite and we learn what one should and shouldn’t do.

Q-tips say: We did enjoy.

A compact and intense thriller, Simon McNally, has no such misgivings. He knows he saw a young woman being hustled into a van for nefarious purposes.  His problem is getting anyone else to believe him. Not because he’s apt to cry wolf, but because he’s got a pretty debilitating mental illness. He doesn’t just have a voice in his head; as we see, there’s a big, irate, hairy, red man there too, and that red man is always telling him how worthless he is and how nobody likes him.

The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in the “The Office” find a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it. Peacock

Q-tips say: So far, we are enjoying it. Still enjoying it.

Mrs. Q says: “The Paper” delivers a some what wholesome, hilarious, and perhaps surprisingly accurate look at the struggles of media in the modern age. However, rate this a tad lower than “The Office. Solely because of… ESMERELDA. 🙄🙄 This character is so insufferable and annoying. Every time she speaks on screen, it is like nails on a chalkboard.

A seemingly ordinary decision turns the world of Elisa, mom to two young kids, upside down. When her daughter Lucia asks to go to a sleepover at her new best friend Josie’s house, Elisa agrees. After meeting Josie’s mother, Rebecca, she’s put at ease by her charming nature and their impressive house. But when she says goodnight to her daughter, she has no idea that she is about to be thrust into every parent’s worst nightmare. Fandango.

Q-tips say: Yes, we were enjoying The Stolen Girl but to many twist and turns.

The Thursday Murder Club follows four irrepressible retirees — Elizabeth (Helen Mirren), Ron (Pierce Brosnan), Ibrahim (Ben Kingsley) and Joyce (Celia Imrie) — who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun. When an unexplained death occurs on their own doorstep, their casual sleuthing takes a thrilling turn as they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands. Netflix

Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy this movie.

The movie blends mystery, drama, and a touch of humor in a very entertaining way. Especially liked that the main characters are older adults, with characters full of experience and depth, which gives the story a unique charm and realism. Each character has their own personality and brings something special to the group, making the plot both intriguing and moving. It’s refreshing to see stories where older people have leading roles with such vitality and complexity.

The castle which is the set is just stunning. This is a perfect “cozy murder” movie for fall! However, there are heavy accents to deal with, so turn on the sub-titles if needed.

When an ex-convict finds an abandoned baby in a dumpster, he gains a new lease on life, deciding to dedicate himself to making sure the child has a good life. Hulu

What a beautiful little surprise “Adopt a Highway” turned out to be. Ethan Hawke is tender, touching, and it is a moving experience & he spends much of his time talking honestly to baby Ella.
