ZION NATL PARK – This is one of Mrs. Q’s favorite. Awesome rock formations, a lot for you to do and see. zionnationalpark.com
A must see of the National Parks. How Zion Was Made – The beauty of Zion started forming two hundred million years ago during the Jurassic Period. The uprising of the Colorado Plateau was seen as the first of many events that shaped this amazing park. A shift in the earth’s crust caused the Colorado Plateau to rise, leaving below the Colorado River and the North Fork of the Virgin River. The combined effects of water and wind erosion on the plateau helped carve the Navajo Sandstone into what is now known as Zion.
Zion does have a bus service – check the times/stops it makes at the visitor center. It is included with the price of Park Entrance Fee.
TRAM RIDE: (included in our trip) – Kelly, our driver was excellent. He was knowledgeable about the Park and had a good sense of humor. Waited after the ride to answer any additional questions.
