The Berghoff is a rarity in America’s restaurant industry—100% family-owned and family-operated for more than 123 years. We enjoyed this visit after our visit to Christkindl market Chicago. www.christkindlmarket.com
Q-Tips say: Had a wonderful visit, food, drinks & ambiance & visit with the Daughter in Law & Son.
Began: we all began with sharing a delicious Bavarian Pretzel.
Both Q’s had: ASB Czech beer. Son had: ASB Flights of beer. Daughter in Law had: Uncle John’s Hard Cider.
Mrs. Q’s enjoyed: – Reuben Sandwich – Hand-carved corned beef (I had corned beef), Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing, served on a grilled house-made rye and ordered an order of Potato Pancakes with small side of apple sauce. She usually does not drink a beer with a meal but when at Berghoff’s Rest. it is a must.
The other half had: Sausage Trio.
Daughter in Law had: Roast Beef Sandwich.
Son had: Jager Schnitzel.
Q tips Say: Go. Enjoyed the food, drinks & visit with the Kids & ambiance.
Should Berghoff ever offer their “History Tour,” take it. When we went several years ago, it was excellent. A tour that ended with tasting different dishes of food.
