312 CHICAGO 9/2018
312 Chicago – 136 N. La Salle St. Chicago, IL 60602, (312) 696-2420
312chicago.com
Q-Tips say: One of the Best – Outstanding food, service, drinks, and cappuccino. The Q’s shared a Caesar Salad. Then the Q’s each ordered the Scallops which were delicious. Our friends ordered a fish special (Mediterranean Skin-on Sea Bass, Yellow Pepper Puree, Crab Meat, Green Onion, Radishes, Fresno Peppers, Lime Juice, Olive Oil, Micro Cilantro) the other ordered the Filet ( Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Tri-Colored Fingerling Potatoes, Truffle Butter, Porcini Mushroom Sauce). The drinks were good but there was no room for dessert.
We came after an afternoon theater performance of “Tootsie” at the Cadillac Theater. 312 Chicago was crowded – many were pre-theater patrons. Many times you go to the tried and true but the Q’s will make sure we return to 312 Chicago – it was that good.
BETWEEN PERUVIAN CAFE LOUNGE – 7/2013
Between Peruvian Cafe & Lounge – 1324 N Milwaukee Ave, (BETWEEN (hence the name) – Paulina St & Hermitage Ave), Chicago, IL 60622, (773) 292-0585, www.betweenchicago.com
Q-Tips say: We used our Groupon and enjoyed the food. service & ambiance. Definitely a nice change from burgers & steak. Some of our Senior friends probably would not appreciate this food as much as our adult California children would. The decor is very different with tradtional tables and non traditional booths and a bar area.
The Special Groupon Menu included menu A and B. Each chose one: Our meals included:
Antocucho De Corazo: grilled skewers of veal heart marinated in aji panca,
peruvian corn, rocoto sauce.
Quinoa Chicken Salad: mixed greens, quinoa breaded chicken breast, tomato, palm, aji amarillo, house balsamic.
Ceviche Classico: best ceviche in Chicago. ever. classic “leche de tigre”, cilantro, red onion, glazed sweet potato, andean corn.
Lomo Saltado: Peruvian stir-fry chicken, tomato, onion, soy and hand-cut fries. steamed white rice.
Our shared dessert was: Chocolate Lucuma: chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream and drizzled caramel sauce. Plus free: two glasses of Sangria.
McCORMICK and SCHMICK& – Wacker Dr. Chicago 6/2013
McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks One E. Wacker Dr., Chicago,IL 60601, Restaurant: 312.923.7226 – www.mccormickandschmicks.com
Q-Tips say: Decent food, great drinks & service but overpriced. We did enjoy our drinks, service and our steaks, however we have had a better Wedge Salad. The side we chose, Baked Gruyere Potatoes, which we shared and the string beans on a bed of sauteed onions were different and delicious. We decided to eat in the bar and have a Happy Hour drink from the Bar Menu and eat there having the steak that is offered from the Dinner Menu. It seems “Happy Hour Drinks” only apply to the Bar Area Menu. Again, a decent meal but overpriced.
COIN OF INDECISION – How to make decisions using your intuition
COIN OF INDECISION – by Sean Adams – How to make Decisions Using your Intuition. http://www.coinofindecision.com/
There are so many self help books out there that talk a lot of theory but do not have a practical application for success. This book changes all of that. All you need is a coin to use the power of manifestation and intuition to ensure your major (and minor) life choices will be the ones that serve you best.
We all have inherent wisdom from sources that we can tap into, but we do not always know how to access that wisdom. Coin Of Indecision will introduce you to that wisdom and teach you how to use it to your advantage.
Mrs. Q says: I liked the COIN OF INDECISION & wonders just what is the “MYSTERY” that is talked about? Is it God, Faith, a Gut Feeling, or something else? Read the COIN of INDECISION and decide for yourself. Mrs. Q enjoyed the COIN and learned a few things, especially to – “be Ok with where you currently are in life” – but keep moving. The author is a wise Man for being so young. So, read the COIN and perhaps it might help you improve your “Decision Making Process”.

MONTY’S LOG CABIN PUB – Felton, CA 2/2018
MONTY’S 5755 Hwy 9, Felton, CA 95018, (831) 335-9969 – No web site
Q-Tips say: – The only place we have ever visited (and we have been many places in the USA and Europe) where a local asked us where we were from, and started talking and PAID FOR OUR DRINKS. If you are in the area, MONTY’S is a must see. You haven’t experienced Felton until you’ve posted up at Montys Log Cabin bar. Super bartenders, pool table, in a real rustic cabin with plenty of taxidermy. There is an outside area which is awesome during the day for chilling in the sun with a cold beer, or at night while sitting by the fire pit chatting it up with other bar patrons. The bartenders are quick witted and always up for a good time. The locals have tons of great stories and are worth talking to. Ladies room even has a padded toilet seat. A biker’s paradise. A fun place. Mrs. Q says: YES, they have a HAPPY HOUR everyday even on holidays from 3:00 to 6:30. A fun place where the locals stop for a drink and catch up with one another or visitors. They love to talk with you. They like to party hearty at Monty’s. Also, if you drink more than usual, don’t expect to find a hotel/motel nearby – there aren’t any. You could drive down the road to “FERN RIVER” but they are usually booked for the weekends/or full weeks at a time.

There are many types of beverages offered including wine and beer. Go and enjoy! It is where the locals go, and it was busy.

Mrs. Q say: There are several Chinese Restaurants in Felton. Tried the other one and was not impressed. CHOPSTIX was better. Great service, good food, reasonably price and there was a small line of locals picking up orders and several dine in tables were busy. The Won Ton Soup in CA seems to include veggies, small shrimp and wontons. I had a special request of NO veggies or shrimp, just the broth and wontons. They made the order as I requested. The entire food order was delicious.
Give Chopstix a try – I will go again.
