Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy this movie. It was excellent, highly recommend. 

Knox Goes Away, Michael Keaton’s character suffers from a rare form of dementia called Creutzfeldt–Jakob Disease, which actually exists in real life. Knox Goes Away tells the story of John Knox, a contract killer who learns that he will soon lose all his memories due to rapidly developing dementia.  It’s still very poignant though that in order to redeem his past, he has to accept that he has no future. He does this gracefully and willingly.

The movie also features a collection of good actors in the ensemble such as Marcia Gay Harden, Suzy Nakamura, and Al Pacino and Keaton does a good job directing himself against the other actors and creating some strong emotional scenes.

When single father John is given only a few months left to live, he tries to find the perfect family for his young son while shielding the boy from the terrible reality of the situation. As he struggles to find the right answer for the impossible task, he meets a social worker who opens him up to solutions he never would have considered. Prime Video – Apple tv

Q-tips say: Yes, watch it. It’s really quite sensitive, powerful, and beautifully acted.

A 35-year-old window cleaner and single father who must find a home for his four-year-old son when he learns he has only a few months to live. A warm drama about Fatherhood.  They were father and son living the best way they could. Very impactful for so many families. what would you do … what could you do … this may help you with decisions you must make. All aspects of this film is exceptional.

Q-tips say: Yes watch it. We are enjoying it.

It’s fun, innocent humour, the little girl is the absolute star. Like the big show show. The laugh tracks corny, music is fun addition. Cheesy, predictable but fun content with above average actors who are clearly talented.

Summer Camp tells the story of Nora (Diane Keaton), Ginny (Kathy Bates), and Mary (Alfre Woodard), who have been best friends since being inseparable at summer camp. As the years have passed, they’ve seen each other less and less, so when the chance to reunite for a summer camp reunion arises, they all take it, some begrudgingly and others excitedly. Each of their lives might not be where they’d imagined, but one thing is for sure — Nora, Ginny, and Mary need each other, and summer camp reminds them why. Netflix

Q-tips say: Enjoyed it. Simple feel good movie for older adults-makes you think about your past summer camp experiences.This movie is ideal for Seniors to enjoy with friends. Liked the story of friendship and how its never too late to reconnect. Many parts of the film reflect retired life & some parts very enjoyable. The story line was cute, but dragged in parts.

EZRA follows Max Bernal (Bobby Cannavale), a stand-up comedian living with his father (Robert De Niro), while struggling to co-parent his autistic son Ezra (introducing William Fitzgerald) with his ex-wife (Rose Byrne). When forced to confront difficult decisions about their son’s future, Max and Ezra embark on a cross-country road trip that has a transcendent impact on both their lives. EZRA is an endearing and often funny exploration of a family determined to find their way through life’s complexities with humor, compassion, and heart. Prime Video – Apple TV.

Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy Ezra. A movie with great acting and eye opening movie regarding people on the Spectrum. Might learn a few things about autism. Ezra is a poignant, decent movie with just the right amount of drama. Most important, it portrays autistic kids accurately.

Thelma Post is a 93-year-old grandmother who loses $10,000 to a con artist on the phone. With help from a friend and his motorized scooter, she soon embarks on a treacherous journey across Los Angeles to reclaim what was taken from her.

“Thelma” sensitively portrays the humiliation of this swindle and the way it forces Gail and Alan to wonder if the time has come to put Thelma in a home. But Thelma has another idea: she decides to get her money back.  

Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy Thelma. The older population might find it humorous & somewhat entertaining. “Thelma,” a mildly amusing, highly improbable codger comedy.

Thelma is warm, accomplished and extremely witty – poking affectionate fun at the ageing process and proving you’re never too old to get stuck into an adventure. Thelma Post, who can be seen in footage at the end of the film and is still alive at the age of 103. On Apple TV – Prime video

Retired bachelor Mr. Hoppy (Dustin Hoffman) is hopelessly in love with his neighbor Mrs. Silver, (Judy Dench) but she is only interested in her pet tortoise Alfie, until Mr. Hoppy hatches an audacious plan to win her love. On Prime Video, rent on Fandango at Home, Apple TV.

Q-tips say: YES, WATCH IT!

Esio Trot combines humor and silliness with poignancy and, occasionally, melancholy. A delightful and heart warming film with beauty all around and especially in the open garden on the balcony of Mr Hoppy’s apartment due to the continuous efforts of Mr Hoppy. Story teller and all characters were a delight to watch. Kindness and caring for all the good things in life proved the glorious ending and new beginning for Mr Hoppy and Mrs Silver.

This is ultimately a family drama, and the remarkable tale of a young man, seriously disadvantaged as a complete establishment outsider, who manages to do good.

Definitely on the heavy side but actors (Glenn Close & Amy Adams) and casting were very good!
