Q-tips say: Had a wonderful time with the Son & Daughter in Law on the Sunset Cruise on the Anita Dee II Yacht. Then off to Carlucci for dinner.
The only negative about the cruise was that they play the same rap music during entire cruise & it was a tad loud.

Each had: Arancini -( Fried saffron risotto, fresh mozzarella.) Mrs. Q has never had this before but it was absolutely delicious.

When our favorite Daughter in Law & Son visit us in Chicago – Wolfy’s is the first & last stop when arriving & leaving Chicago. We did take out & enjoyed Happy Hour & Wolfy’s hot dogs on Mrs. Q’s “She Shed” balcony.
Liam (Daryl McCormack), an aspiring and ambitious young writer, eagerly accepts a tutoring position at the family estate of his idol, renowned author J.M. Sinclair (Academy Award nominee Richard E. Q-tips say: Mr. Q enjoyed it more than the Mrs.
The acting by the lead characters is ok. The Lesson isn’t likely to win any year-end awards, but It’s not the most original story, but it kind of worked.
Following freshman year at college, best friends Tibby (Amber Tamblyn), Lena (Alexis Bledel), Carmen (America Ferrera) and Bridget (Blake Lively) find it increasingly difficult to stay in touch. As their lives take different paths, it may take more than a shared pair of well-worn blue jeans to keep their bonds from completely unraveling.
Q-tips say: We enjoyed it more than we thought might.
A movie directed by a woman, written by a woman, based on books written by a woman, starring young women with minorities and older women as supporting cast? Give it a chance.
Mrs. Q says: You believe these four are friends now and will probably be friends when they’re little old ladies.

8/21/23 – Porkchop is restaurant and bar that dishes out an urban interpretation of a Southern backwoods experience. It is an unapologetically unpretentious neighborhood party spot serving gourmet Southern comfort food and BBQ, and featuring an innovative bar program with some of the world’s top whiskeys.
Pit to plate smoked meats, seafood and veggie options offered with a full cocktail bar, specializing in over 70+ whiskies.
Q-tips say: It was our first visit to Pork Chop. The food was just ok – drinks were awful. Waitress/bartender said she does not know how to make a Perfect Manhattan – so we both had their Old Fashion – was strong but very little mix. Rest. did not look really clean, only one man was eating at the bar – that was it & music was loud & they have gambling machines. Not sure we will go back again.
I had: Build your own Burger w/ cheese an extra dollar. I asked for Swiss but she brought out the burger with Cheddar cheese. So far the evening was not going as well as we would anticipated, so Idecided to eat it instead of sending it back. There was lettuce, tomato, & asked for pickles – an extra charge & hand cut fries . All was just ok -nothing special.
The other half had: Blackened (was over blackend) Catfish Filet w/ Cole Slaw & Mac & Cheese. Was ok but not as good as Pearl’s was – which is now closed.

Pepper feels his father’s absence most keenly, and can’t wait for him to return home. Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy it. There’s an earnestness that simply can’t be denied.
While the story has some logical (not to mention theological) inconsistencies, it is well-paced, well-produced, and very well acted.

Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy this movie & the fact that was filmed entirely on location in Spain. Beautiful scenes & scenery. They discover that the most important question isn’t who gave you life, but what you decide to do with it.
Sebastian Maniscalco joins forces with legendary Italian-American and two-time Oscar winner, Robert De Niro, in the new comedy ABOUT MY FATHER. The film centers around Sebastian (Maniscalco) who is encouraged by his fiancée (Leslie Bibb) to bring his immigrant, hairdresser father, Salvo (De Niro), to a weekend get-together with her super-rich and exceedingly eccentric family (Kim Cattrall, Anders Holm, Brett Dier, David Rasche). The weekend develops into what can only be described as a culture clash, leaving Sebastian and Salvo to discover that the great thing about family is everything about family.
Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy & there are also some laughable moments to enjoy. The critics did not like it but the audience did. It’s an oddball movie that had me laughing out loud, perhaps not for reasons the filmmakers intended, but I enjoyed it anyway.
