When her mother (Nia Long) disappears while on vacation in Colombia with her new boyfriend, June’s (Storm Reid) search for answers is hindered by international red tape. Stuck thousands of miles away in Los Angeles, June creatively uses all the latest technology at her fingertips to try and find her before it’s too late. But as she digs deeper, her digital sleuthing raises more questions than answers… and when June unravels secrets about her mom, she discovers that she never really knew her at all.

Most of the movie has this along with June’s search for her Mother.

I think the Mr. enjoyed it a bit more than the Mrs.

The story told entirely through technology screens.

Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy this movie. The star has a wonderful voice and the dedication to his craft is inspiring. His soul comes through the songs he sings and it’s an enjoyable movie because of it.

Wildflower is a hilarious big-hearted celebration of family in all its variety. A coming-of-age film about growing up too fast and slowing down just enough to recognize one’s good fortune.

Q-tips say: Enjoyable. The picture explores the chaos and confusion of extended families which find themselves with a common goal but no consensus on how to achieve it. It practically vibrates with the force of its good intentions.

When Mordecai, a Holocaust survivor, portrayed by Academy Award Nominee Judd Hirsch (The Fabelmans, Ordinary People) is given a new iPhone, an unexpected series of events upends his world. A heartwarming Miami-set comedy based on a true story.

Q-tips say: We enjoyed it. The movie  demonstrates that there’s life and even humor after unspeakable tragedy and that life can keep on giving for those who are up for enjoying the ride.

Judd Hirsch goes full shtick in a sweet but mawkishly sentimental tribute to heritage and family. Mordecai adds a hefty serving of schmaltz with labored subplots that dilute the narrative.

Grandpa asks his young adult grandson on a cross-country trip to fulfill his wish after Grandpa lost wife who died. They encounter male strippers, biker-bar patrons and other unsuspecting citizens.

 The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll — lit up stages for decades with her electric presence and powerhouse vocals, blazing a trail for Black female singers.

The program will weave archival footage and interviews reflecting on her career.

We join many in celebration of her life, legacy, and immeasurable contributions to the arts. She was simply the best.”

Cameron Edwin (Jim Gaffigan), the host of a failing children’s science TV show called “Above & Beyond”, has always had aspirations of being an astronaut. After a mysterious space-race era satellite coincidentally falls from space and lands in his backyard, his midlife crisis manifests in a plan to rebuild the machine into his dream rocket. As his relationship with his wife (Rhea Seehorn) and daughter (Katelyn Nacon) start to strain, surreal events begin unfolding around him — a doppelgänger moving into the house next door, a car falling from the sky, and an unusual teenage boy forging a friendship with him. He slowly starts to piece these events together to ultimately reveal that there’s more to his life story than he once thought.

Q-tips say: It was just ok.

The production contributes to the feeling of a surrealist adventure that toggles between satirical comedy and something darker and much heavier. A muddled tract about middle-age malaise… We grant some license to arthouse films for trying stuff that’s unusual and different from mainstream fare – and bless them all – but this noble attempt simply fails to take off.

Heart of a Champion is a heartwarming family film. A 14-year-old coping with the divorce of her parents, a new school and typical teenage growing pains finds purpose and pride in a lost horse she cares for and trains for a state competition.

Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy it!

if you are looking for a new kind of kick with a galloping pace, know that the minutes run away like wild horses when your ride with this film. [Brad] Keller and his crew in Dallas, where this was shot, have made a unique family picture.

Heart of a Champion’s content is very family friendly.

Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin star as estranged friends who reunite to seek revenge on the petulant widower (Malcolm McDowell) of their recently deceased best friend. Along the way, Fonda’s character reunites with her great love (Richard Roundtree) as each woman learns to make peace with the past and each other.

Q-tips say: We kind of enjoyed it but not as much as anticipated. Some parts were funny but overall not that exciting. Was nice to see long time friends getting back together & remembering old times & creating new experiences again.

Even as the promising puzzle pieces don’t quite gel together, the experience still provides a refreshingly morbid comedy bolstered by the radiant talents of the stars.

Businesswoman Janie is falling apart at the thought of becoming a mom, then has a chance meeting with an angel.
