12/8/22 – Karen is an entitled middle-aged woman whose demanding nature has alienated her neighbors and family. After a series of incidents displaying her privilege and prejudice, Karen receives an ‘intervention’ by some unconventional spirits.

Q-tips say: Yes, See it! It has everything you’d expect: a terrible haircut, a scene where the main character demands to speak to a manager, and acts of passive-aggressive racism. Although the film is slightly better than you might expect.

Michele Simms plays Karen, a bitter, wine-guzzling woman who makes unreasonable demands at restaurants and antagonizes the very nice African-American family living next door. She receives the standard visits from three ghosts. The Ghost of Christmas Present (Rolin Alexis) is a gay Black man – Karen’s worst nightmare – who takes her back to a formative childhood trauma while simultaneously allowing the movie to engage in a lot of lame double entendres. The Ghost of Christmas Present (Leyla Lawrence) reveals that the neighbor girl she’s been mean to is battling leukemia. The Ghost of Christmas Future (Lee Karlinski) is a “dude” who shows her how no one misses her when she’s dead because of how poorly she treated people during life.

12/02/22 – A woman who plans to sell a small town without regard for the people who live there receives a visit from an angel.

Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy it. Christmas on the Square lets the viewers kick back and relax during a busy Holiday Season.

New original music & enough snappy dance numbers, Christmas On the Square won’t be winning any awards but it will surely become a holiday favorite in its own right.

Parton lends her songs and her luminescence to the feel-good family movie.

11/26/22 – After inheriting a farm at Christmastime, a widowed father makes a bumpy adjustment to village life while his kids hatch a plan to stay there forever.

Q-tips say: Yes, see it. We enjoyed this movie.

Parents need to know that: Christmas on Mistletoe Farm is a festive comedy drama that incudes some gross-out humor, slapstick, and mild name calling. Matt (Scott Garnham) is a widowed father who goes to live in the countryside with his five children. The death of the kids’ mother is mentioned often but no circumstances or cause are given. Matt works hard to take care of his children. But the movie’s core message is to work less and embrace your community.

Keeping family together and happy. The Dads boss is overplayed and super mean. Otherwise everyone is delightful to watch and its a great movie.: Christmas on Mistletoe Farm is a festive comedy drama that incudes some gross-out humor, slapstick, and mild name calling. Mild language includes “poo” and “farts,” and there’s some potty humor involving animal dung and a piglet urinating onto men’s faces. Slapstick is present throughout and a few characters act in anger. There is some tame innuendo, flirting, and matchmaking, but nothing risqué. At the farm, the kids are befriended by a wacky childlike adult called Beano (Scott Paige), who might appeal to young children but is likely to irritate older kids and adults.

Q-tips say: See it. We enjoyed it. Liked the character Beano being over the top just like Santa. The family is adorable, siblings are close. Their purpose of trying to stay on the farm is the story. Keeping family together and happy. Everyone is delightful to watch and its a good movie.

11/26/22 – Under-appreciated and overburdened moms Amy, Kiki and Carla rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for moms: Christmas. As if creating the perfect holiday for their families isn’t hard enough, they’ll have to do it while hosting and entertaining their own respective mothers when they come to visit.

Q-tips say: Was ok. Had a few laughs & it is really silly at times. It might entertain you while on the verge of a turkey coma, but it will never rank among the Christmas classics. Which is when the Q’s watched it – on a turkey coma.  Not cinematic excellence, A Bad Moms Christmas is a fun, guilty pleasure and put simply – a good time.

Mrs. Q says: It is NOT for little children or even for young teens. It’s far from a well-wrapped present but it’s not exactly coal in someone’s stocking.

11/13/22 – A cynical journalist must get from Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles in time for Christmas, and his only option is to take the train.

Q-tips say: We did enjoy this movie. The Christmas Train is filled with memorable characters who have packed their bags with as much wisdom as mischief … and shows how we do get second chances to fulfill our deepest hopes and dreams, especially during this season of miracles.
