Q-tips say: Yes, watch it. A comedy.

A lovely film dealing gently with ageing. Moments of brilliant humour abounded.

Pamela Reed as Loraine played her part beautifully, and just shows how the more mature actors/actresses who have learned their craft over decades, are ultimately more watchable than some of the younger actors/actresses at Hallmark who squeal and screech their way through their characterizations. Perfect facial expressions and body language, it was a perfect connection between the two of them. The husband was awesome, too. Appreciated everything about the film.

What was pleasing was that a captivating film was made devoid of sexual encounters, obscene language and offensive gimmicks to lure viewers. An enjoyable movie can be made without those features! Bravo!

Rory (Matt Damon) and Cobby (Casey Affleck) are reluctant partners: a desperate father and an ex-con thrown together to rob a corrupt politician’s ill-gained earnings. But when the heist goes wrong, the two find themselves engulfed in a whirlwind of chaos, pursued not only by police but also by backward bureaucrats and vengeful crime bosses. Completely out of their depth, they convince Rory’s therapist (Hong Chau) to join their riotous getaway through the city, where they must put aside their differences and work together to evade capture — or worse.

Q-tips say: We did enjoyed it. Entertaining & good acting . It was interesting but the language was distracting & unnecessary. It’s about two thieves who go on the run with help from a therapist after a robbery goes wrong. The movie was filmed in several Boston area locations.

Parents need to know that the Boston-set crime caper The Instigators stars Matt Damon and Casey Affleck in a film with pervasive swearing and violence. People get shot and hold others at gunpoint. Some characters die, others are threatened.

Many critics & some audiences did not like it.

Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy this movie. It was excellent, highly recommend. 

Knox Goes Away, Michael Keaton’s character suffers from a rare form of dementia called Creutzfeldt–Jakob Disease, which actually exists in real life. Knox Goes Away tells the story of John Knox, a contract killer who learns that he will soon lose all his memories due to rapidly developing dementia.  It’s still very poignant though that in order to redeem his past, he has to accept that he has no future. He does this gracefully and willingly.

The movie also features a collection of good actors in the ensemble such as Marcia Gay Harden, Suzy Nakamura, and Al Pacino and Keaton does a good job directing himself against the other actors and creating some strong emotional scenes.

When single father John is given only a few months left to live, he tries to find the perfect family for his young son while shielding the boy from the terrible reality of the situation. As he struggles to find the right answer for the impossible task, he meets a social worker who opens him up to solutions he never would have considered. Prime Video – Apple tv

Q-tips say: Yes, watch it. It’s really quite sensitive, powerful, and beautifully acted.

A 35-year-old window cleaner and single father who must find a home for his four-year-old son when he learns he has only a few months to live. A warm drama about Fatherhood.  They were father and son living the best way they could. Very impactful for so many families. what would you do … what could you do … this may help you with decisions you must make. All aspects of this film is exceptional.

Q-tips say: Yes watch it. We are enjoying it.

It’s fun, innocent humour, the little girl is the absolute star. Like the big show show. The laugh tracks corny, music is fun addition. Cheesy, predictable but fun content with above average actors who are clearly talented.

Summer Camp tells the story of Nora (Diane Keaton), Ginny (Kathy Bates), and Mary (Alfre Woodard), who have been best friends since being inseparable at summer camp. As the years have passed, they’ve seen each other less and less, so when the chance to reunite for a summer camp reunion arises, they all take it, some begrudgingly and others excitedly. Each of their lives might not be where they’d imagined, but one thing is for sure — Nora, Ginny, and Mary need each other, and summer camp reminds them why. Netflix

Q-tips say: Enjoyed it. Simple feel good movie for older adults-makes you think about your past summer camp experiences.This movie is ideal for Seniors to enjoy with friends. Liked the story of friendship and how its never too late to reconnect. Many parts of the film reflect retired life & some parts very enjoyable. The story line was cute, but dragged in parts.

EZRA follows Max Bernal (Bobby Cannavale), a stand-up comedian living with his father (Robert De Niro), while struggling to co-parent his autistic son Ezra (introducing William Fitzgerald) with his ex-wife (Rose Byrne). When forced to confront difficult decisions about their son’s future, Max and Ezra embark on a cross-country road trip that has a transcendent impact on both their lives. Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy Ezra. A movie with great acting and eye opening movie regarding people on the Spectrum. Might learn a few things about autism. Ezra is a poignant, decent movie with just the right amount of drama. Most important, it portrays autistic kids accurately.

Thelma Post is a 93-year-old grandmother who loses $10,000 to a con artist on the phone. With help from a friend and his motorized scooter, she soon embarks on a treacherous journey across Los Angeles to reclaim what was taken from her.

“Thelma” sensitively portrays the humiliation of this swindle and the way it forces Gail and Alan to wonder if the time has come to put Thelma in a home. But Thelma has another idea: she decides to get her money back.  

Q-tips say: Yes, we did enjoy Thelma. The older population might find it humorous & somewhat entertaining. “Thelma,” a mildly amusing, highly improbable codger comedy.

Thelma is warm, accomplished and extremely witty – poking affectionate fun at the ageing process and proving you’re never too old to get stuck into an adventure. Thelma Post, who can be seen in footage at the end of the film and is still alive at the age of 103. On Apple TV – Prime video
